Network management in retail

Introduction

Network management is not only of great importance for companies in the retail sector, it is also associated with considerable challenges. Management in and of networks plays a central role, especially when introducing cross-company process innovations such as RFID technology.

Thomas C. Salditt shows a selection of current challenges for the retail industry that increase the pressure on individual retailers to be more efficient. Cross-company process innovations such as RFID technology can be used to counter this pressure. Corporate networks and the management of these networks are a key aspect here. The author places processes and process innovations in retail in the context of network relationships and derives specific recommendations for management in networks.
