The capacities for the supervision of bachelor theses at the CMR are limited from the summer semester 2020. Please note that the application does not guarantee that you will get a place at the CMR.

Bachelor theses: overview

The awarding of bachelor theses at the CMR follows a standardized procedure. At the 30.03.2021 we will provide you with a list of topics that you can use to submit your preferences to us. We will then assign a topic to you, taking your preferences into account. Your own topic requests can only be considered in exceptional cases and should be at least three weeks before the start of the semester, i.e. by08.03.2021, be discussed with a research assistant at the CMR who is active in the relevant research field.

Each semester we offer topics from the following research fields:

  • Macroeconomics, Money and Financial Markets
  • Public Economics

Application and assignment of topics

The application deadline was from 19.02.2021 until 19.03.2021. During this period, you could send our completed registration form (link is deactivated because the registration period has expired) from your S-Mail account, together with a current overview of services, by e-mail to [email protected] If grades have been added by March 19, 2021 (end of the registration period), you can submit an updated Transcript of Records.

Ideally, you have already completed a bachelor's seminar at the CMR or at another economics department before applying. The application does not guarantee that you will get a place at the CMR. We will inform you whether you have received a place by 29.03.2021 With. Please refrain from making inquiries until then. The confirmation does not yet constitute a binding exam registration. This will only take place later in consultation with the supervisor assigned to you and with knowledge of the topic assigned to you.

At the12.04.2021 the supervisors are available for a topic consultation hour.

Due to the risk of infection and spread of the SARS-CoV-2 corona virus, the respective appointments with the supervisors will take place online. The respective supervisors will present their topics again separately and answer questions on the respective topic. In order to receive information about the exact time of the consultation hours on the topic of your interest, please contact the respective supervisor directly via email.

Until15.04.2021 Submit your topic preferences using a template we provide by email. Until 19.04.2021 we assign the topics and then inform you about the assignment. From this point on, the research assistant associated with your topic will take care of you. In consultation with this employee, you then register for the bachelor thesis.

Regardless of the time of the binding registration, the processing time for your bachelor thesis begins on 19.04.2021.

The deadline for submitting the bachelor thesis is12.07.2021. The bachelor thesis must be submitted to the examination office in accordance with the rules specified there.
