Recycle your device for free.

We think that every device still has a value. Even if your device is no longer eligible for a trade-in, send it to us anyway and we will recycle it for free.

Start

Trade-in has never been easier.

Find out how much your device is worth and save on a new one.

We will make you an offer online or in the store for the value of your current device. Choose a new one that suits you and use your credit to buy it.

Transferring your data is very easy.

When you receive your new device, you can securely transfer your data and delete it from your current device in just a few simple steps.2 This is how you prepare everything for:

iPhone or iPadApple WatchMac

Send it or simply bring it over directly.

Send it back with the free Trade In Kit that we will send you. Or trade it in at an Apple Store.

Find a store near you

Not ready for a new device yet?

You can still exchange your old one. We will then transfer the equivalent value to you and recycle your old device.

Select your device to have the trade-in value estimated, even without a purchase.1

And it helps

to protect the planet.

Even if you hand in your old device, someone else might still be able to use it. If it is in good condition, we can find new owners and thus reduce electronic waste on the landfill. If not, we will send it to our recycling partner in order to reclaim valuable materials - and to get fewer new ones from the earth.

If it's an iPhone, it could even end up on Daisy. This is our dismantling robot that efficiently recovers the raw materials in old devices.3

What is Apple Trade In and how does it work?

Apple Trade In is our device trade-in program. For trade-ins, we work with partners who value your device. This value is based on the information you provide. If you accept the offer, our partner will send you materials for shipping free of charge, and you can send in your device.

Our partner will check your device. And when it is in the condition you specified, you will receive a payment equal to the value offered. If the device does not correspond to the specified condition, our partner will send you a new offer. You can accept the new offer or have the device returned to you free of charge.

Does Apple offer recycling?

Yes. With Apple Trade In, you can have any Apple device and Apple-owned devices recycled at any Apple Store. We make sure that it is recycled or reused responsibly. Some devices may also be eligible for credit. You can bring your batteries and old Apple products to any Apple Store and we will recycle them responsibly and for free. We accept any small product or battery without you having to buy a new product or batteries.

What happens to my device if I trade it in or have it recycled?

As soon as we receive your device, our partners will check it thoroughly. If the device is in good condition, it can be overhauled so that it can find a new owner. If not, one of our partners will recycle it in an environmentally friendly way.

How long does the trade-in take online?

Usually it takes 2 to 3 weeks. But the earlier you send us your device, the faster we can check its condition and process your refund for the trade-in.

If I buy a new device online and add a trade-in, what type of refund do I get?

It depends on what you buy and how you pay for it. If you buy an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch and pay in full, we will refund you up to the total purchase price using your original payment method. We will transfer the remaining exchange value to you.

Will I get the value offered?

Our trade-in partner will check your device. If it is in the condition you specified, you will receive a payment equal to the value offered. If it does not correspond to the condition you specified, you will receive a new offer. You can either accept this offer and receive payment, or decline it and have your device returned to you free of charge.

Which devices qualify for trade-in with Apple Trade In?

All Apple products are qualified for recycling at any time, and some are also eligible for credit. In any case, you can send your used devices to our partners and have them recycled responsibly.

Can I cancel my trade-in?

If you haven't shipped your device yet, you can cancel the trade-in on our partner's website.

Do I have to send in the accessories from my device (charger, cable and so on)?

Can I trade in or recycle more than one device at a time?

When the product reaches the end of its life cycle, take it to a collection point specified by local authorities.
