Why do I go bald at 16?

A strong institution

The Lower Franconian district of Aschaffenburg has its own point of contact for seriously ill children and young people requiring intensive care.

The long wait was worth it. In February 2020, the Bärenfamilie children's intensive care facility will open in Kahl am Main. At Hanauer Landstrasse 8, up to 12 children in need of intensive care are cared for by the highest level of specialist care.

"With the opening of the bear family station, we can close a care gap in the region," says Johannes Wiedmayer, managing director of the fully inpatient facility.

Herr Wiedmayer is no stranger to this. For more than 10 years he has been caring for long-term ventilated children and young people in several federal states with the child intensive care service Wichtelteam from Aschaffenburg.

Caring for seriously ill children is an enormous burden for families and a particular challenge for caregivers. Parents are often given full or hourly support by professional care services in caring for their children. Often, however, parents spend a long time looking for a suitable care provider.

“The shortage of staff is omnipresent in nursing. Many parents cannot find a nursing service for months, the children have to wait in the clinics, and often no help is available, especially in rural areas, ”says Johannes Wiedmayer.

With our concept of inpatient child care, the educational concept of early childhood development support and the possibility of caring for children in short-term care, we have the opportunity with our facility to offer affected families an adequate solution. Whether in the short term, as a bridge solution or in the long term, we can look after all children in a highly professional manner.

We are happy to welcome all interested parties to the opening ceremony on February 19, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and are available for a personal conversation at any time.
