What is Irrfan Khan's next film

At the age of only 53: Actor Irrfan Khan has passed away

With films like "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Jurassic World", Irrfan Khan made his way from Bollywood to Hollywood. Now the actor died surprisingly.

The international film world says goodbye to Irrfan Khan. Like various sources, including Variety and Deadline, reported today, the actor, who was equally active in Bollywood and Hollywood, passed away at the age of only 53. The reason given for his untimely death is a neuroendocrine tumor that the actor was diagnosed with two years ago. Since then, Khan had sought treatment in London and had enough strength to shoot his last Bollywood film "Angrezi Medium" by director Homi Adajania.

After a few first steps in the Indian television business in the late 80s and big parts in the 90s, Irrfan Khan finally celebrated his breakthrough in Bollywood with the 2004 “Maqbool - The Godfather of Mumbai”. Since then, the accomplished actor has been considered a star in the Indian arthouse sector, which ultimately brought him into the focus of director Ang Lee through smaller parts in films such as "Darjeeling Limited" and "Slumdog Millionaire". For the cult director he slipped into the role of the adult Pi Patel and thus the narrator in the philosophically profound “Life of Pi: Shipwreck with Tiger”. Nonetheless, Irrfan Khan continued to stick to the Bollywood business and only moved back to Hollywood in 2015 for Jurassic World.

His last major appearance on the international stage was in Ron Howard's "Inferno", where he shone alongside Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones. Irrfan Khan leaves behind his wife Sutapa and his two sons Babil and Ayan. Rest in peace.
